Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Battle (小林さんちのバトルドラゴン Kobayashi-san Chi no Batoru Doragon) is the fourth episode of the Miss Kobayashi's Dragon 〇〇 Something anime miniseries. It was released on June 21, 2017 via the fourth Blu-ray/DVD compilation volume for the first season of the Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid anime.[1]
Synopsis[]
Elma, Fafnir, and Takiya join Kobayashi and Tohru in enacting different styles of battling. The styles shown are Western, Ganryujima, Kung Fu, RPG, and Battlefield.
Plot Overview[]
Tohru introduces herself by kicking the episodes title card in two. She then introduces the newest members for the special, but only calls Fafnir's name and ignores Elma and Takiya.

Kobayashi-san Chi no "Western" Dragon: Tohru and Elma play out a "Showdown at High Noon", where they take three steps in opposite directions away from each other, then turn and shoot. However, Tohru cheats and shoots Elma early, leaving Kobayashi unsurprised. Fafnir and Takiya then play the same game, and both respect the rules. At three, Takiya is "shot dead" and Fafnir walks away, making a snide comment.
Kobayashi-san Chi no "Ganryujima"[note 2] Dragon: Elma waits on an island overnight for the purpose of dueling Tohru, but the latter fails to show up. Elma is disappointed, but Kobayashi says she expected this turn of events. Takiya and Fafnir both arrive for their swordfight, but both are late, leaving Kobayashi in disbelief.

Kobayashi-san Chi no "Kung Fu" Dragon: Tohru, Elma, Takiya, and Fafnir are shown wearing Chinese-style tops and choreographing martial arts movements. While they practice, Kobayashi appears and points out how their actually doing Taikyoku.
Kobayashi-san Chi no "RPG" Dragon: Pixel sprites of Tohru, Elma, Fafnir, and Takiya appear on screen battling a demon. Tohru attacks the demon first and instantly kills it. Elma says she's hungry and Fafnir complains about how the monster didn't drop anything. Takiya says he thinks it was because the monster was beaten too quickly, and Kobayashi agrees.
Kobayashi-san Chi no "Battlefield" Dragon: Tohru, wearing a soldier's uniform, is shown ducking under sandbags while Takiya and Fafnir, wearing rice hats, shoot at her from behind cover. Elma helps Tohru launch a counterattack. As the two groups shoot at each other, it is revealed that the battlefield is actually Kobayashi's apartment draped in sheets with foliage designs.
Kobayashi says an actual battle hasn't occurred, prompting Fafnir to challenge Tohru and Elma. This results in big explosions being seen from space over Japan, as Takiya admires the battle taking place and Kobayashi ends the special.

- This is the only special in which Kanna does not make an appearance.
- The Kobayashi-san Chi no "Ganryujima" Dragon skit is based on the real life duel between Miyamoto Musashi and Sasaki Kojirō. Tohru not arriving to the island to duel Elma, as well as Takiya and Fafnir both being late to their duel, references how Musashi deliberately arrived to his duel with Kojirō late.
- The Kobayashi-san Chi no "RPG" Dragon skit references the original Final Fantasy for the Nintendo Entertainment System.
